  1. Discover Nimporio Settlement. Enjoy long walks in the cobblestone alleys, visit the Old Clock and the Town Hall of Halki, the Information Office under the Post Office and the three windmills with magnificent view. Walk around Piazza, the heart of the settlement, and enjoy your meal or a drink in one of the numerous cafes and restaurants.

  2. Medieval Castle and Ancient Horio. Horio is the abandoned old village of Halki with old stoned houses, yet almost ruined, located under the shadow of the Castle. Take the small path from the village to walk to the Church of Panagia and admire the beautiful paintings. Another path from the Church will lead you to the Medieval Castle with a breathtaking view. Every year on the 14th of August a festival with traditional music and food takes place in honor of Panagia ( Virgin Mary) who celebrates on August 15.
  1. Monastery of St. John. One of the favorite destinations of Halki’s visitors. A large yard around the monastery, a big cypress and the sounds of nature create a calm and relaxing environment. The monastery celebrates on August 29. In honor of the Saint, a festival is held every year on the 28th  of August with traditional music and food.
  1. Church of Agios Nicolaos. The central church of Halki, located in Nimborio. Famous for the black and white pebble mosaic courtyard and the majestic bell tower.
  1. Monastery of Panormitis. A small church close to Horio with a panoramic view of the island.
  1. Traditional House of Halki. Located in the settlement of the island, it operates as a folklore museum where visitors can experience the traditional way of life in Halki in the old times.

  1. Halki’s harbor is ideal not only for swimming, but also for fishing and canoeing. You can also rent a boat for exploring the nearest beaches at your own convenience.
